• The Community Food Bank provides enough food for over 35,000 meals every day.
• During the course of a year, over 100,000 people receive family food boxes.
• Over 16.5 million pounds of food were distributed through the food bank’s programs last year.

Our Mission–Through education, advocacy and the acquisition, storage and distribution of food, we will anticipate and meet the food needs of the hungry in our community.

The Community Food Bank, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charity, relies on 78 employees and hundreds of community volunteers to ensure that the people of Southern Arizona have access to the food and programs they need. The food bank has recently expanded its service area to include Cochise, Graham, Greenlee and Santa Cruz counties.

Hours of Operation: office/admin hours are Monday -Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.
Receiving hours (trailer deliveries) Monday -Friday 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
Small food donations accepted from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.

The Community Food Bank has been awarded a coveted four-star rating by Charity Navigator for its sound fiscal management. This award places Community Food Bank in the top 25 percent of charities in the United States.

Children

• Children are the largest group in need, representing 40% of the food bank’s clients.
• An estimated 50,000 children in Southern Arizona are at risk for hunger.
• Hunger can effect a child’s health, cognitive growth and ability to perform in school.

Seniors

• 12% of our clients are senior citizens.
• Many seniors live on a fixed income that does not increase with inflation. Some will find themselves making the choice between food and other essentials.
• Over 3,600 local seniors participate in Food Plus, a program that provides nutritious food to supplement their monthly grocery purchases.

The Working Poor

45% of our households represent the working poor—people who work, but do not earn enough to be self-sufficient.

Other groups often seeking assistance include: people suffering from illness, people fleeing abuse, the homeless, the unemployed or underemployed, people coping with addiction.
