Cash for Cans at Casinos to Benefit Community Food Bank’s Bare Shelves
TUCSON – “Cash for Cans” will be held throughout November at Casino Del Sol and Casino of the Sun to benefit the Community Food Bank, which provides support to people throughout Southern Arizona, including the Pascua Yaqui Tribe.
“We have a huge number of children, elderly and working poor who are facing a tough holiday season, and we are grateful to the casinos and their guests for their ongoing support and willingness to help,” said Bill Carnegie, President/CEO for the Food Bank. “The Community Food Bank, serving more than 170,000 individuals throughout Pima County, is engaged in one of the largest food drives in its history.”
Participation in Cash for Cans is open to qualified casino guests who are enrolled in the Club Sol program. They can receive 50 bonus points per food item, up to five food items, redeemable for $5 cash.
“This is a nice opportunity to give back to our community,” said Samuel Arellano, marketing director for the casinos. “We hope to make this year’s Cash for Cans the most successful ever”
