Tucson Healthy Corner Stores

What is the Healthy Corner Store Project?

A program to increase the amount of healthy foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy available in small neighborhood stores. The goal is to explore how we can get healthy foods into the small stores that people depend on for their food needs.

Why a Healthy Corner Store?

  • Access to healthy food may be limited for individuals and families with low incomes.
  • Healthy food may not be available or is not affordable.
  • Diet related diseases are a concern.
  • Nutrition education is most useful when people have healthy food choices.

Making it possible for people to get the food that they want and need.

Who is Organizing the Healthy Corner Store Initiative?
