The Dish Bistro Hosts New Year’s Eve Fund Raising Event
| December 31, 2007 | ||
| 3:00 pm | to | 5:00 pm |
The Dish Bistro, 3131 E. 1st, will be hosting a Champagne fund raising event for the Community Food Bank from 3 to 5 PM on New Year’s Eve. The cost is $15.00 each, with the entire proceeds going to the Community Food Bank. No reservations are required. This will be a wonderful “pre” event for those going out, or can be a wonderful New Year’s Eve celebration for those older folks, that wish to retire early.
The Champagnes under the LVMH umbrella are: Moet & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, and Dom Ruinart.
The newest offering from Moet & Chandon - “Grand Vintage 2000″ - will be debuted at the tasting.
The tasting will be arranged as a “flow through” event - i.e. “informal” - participants will get started with a flute and proceed through the line-up of Champagnes (9 wines). Though informal, the tasting is designed to be informative (and hopefully festive), as the line-up will show the nuance of various types and styles of Champagne: Demi-Sec, Extra-Dry, Brut, Blanc de Blancs, Rose, and Vintage Champagne.
Participants can then decide which style best suits their tastes.
Champagne-appropriate light snacks will be served.
Participation in the event will require a $15 donation to Community Food Bank.
100% of that $15 will be forwarded to the Community Food Bank - the costs of food, wine, and service are underwritten by RumRunner/Dish and LVMH.
The tasting will run from 3:00 PM until 5:00 PM, Monday, December 31, 2007.
