Music & Dance Academy Students Host Community Food Drive at Music Department Recitals
Students of the Music & Dance Academy of Tucson will be holding a Music Department Recital and Food Drive on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at the Oro Valley Music & Dance Academy, 7954 N. Oracle Road. The recital is scheduled from 2:00PM to 5:00PM with each department including strings, guitar, winds, piano and percussion performing at designated times. Contributions for the food drive can be made two convenient ways. Donations can be dropped off at either the Tucson or Oro Valley Music & Dance Academy, or through a virtual donation. For every dollar donated, the Community Food Bank can distribute almost $9 of food, or enough for about four meals. Money donated online is also tax deductible.
This is the fourth year Music & Dance Academy students have held a food drive in conjunction with a Student Department Recital. The Department Recitals are only one of many frequent performance opportunities offered throughout the year where Academy students of all ages and abilities perform from their current repertoire. This recital is free and open to the public to attend.
The Music & Dance Academy, celebrating its 14th Anniversary, provides comprehensive music and dance education for all ages, fostering ability in each student and inspiring a learning community that embraces diversity.
