The Community Food Bank Hunger Walk was more than just a successful event that highlighted the problem of hunger in Southern Arizona, introduced folks to the food bank, and raised money to support the programs of the food bank.  It was a lot of fun!

We were entertained by the University of Arizona Alumni Pep Band and inspired by Cub Scout Pack #339 who presented the colors and led the pledge.  Supervisor Richard Elias led the charge with other local business and community leaders including Sam Levitz and Councilwoman Nina Trasoff.  The program was emceed by Ed Alexander of KVOI and additional music provided by Tim Ryan of Double Play D.J.’s.  Dozens of Tucson Electric Power volunteers in their bright blue shirts helped keep things running smoothly.

We thank all the volunteers and supporters who made this event possible and are particularly grateful to the 223 people who registered for the Hunger Walk!
