Members of the Arizona Cardinals NFL Team to Volunteer at the Community Food Bank

Two Arizona Cardinals NFL football players, Jason Banks (Defensive End #79) and Jerheme Urban (Wide Receiver # 85), accompanied by two Cardinals Cheerleaders will travel to Tucson on Wednesday, May 13, 2009 to volunteer at the Community Food Bank in Tucson.  The group will be accompanied by Cardinal Mascot “Big Red.”

The players, cheerleaders and mascot will arrive at the Community Food Bank, 3003 S. Country Club at 10:15 AM to help food bank volunteers pack emergency food boxes. Emergency food boxes are distributed to people experiencing a food crisis. The food bank continues to experience double digit increases in requests for help during these difficult economic times.  On an average weekday volunteers pack over 800 emergency food boxes.

The Cardinals representatives will have a busy day in Tucson with stops at Citadel Radio, an American Red Cross Blood Drive and a visit to a TUSD Middle School

The Arizona Cardinals won the NFC Championship in the 2008-2009 season and played in the 2009 Super Bowl for the first time.
