What:  Santa Cruz River Farmers’ Market Solstice Solar Fair

Where:  NE corner of Speedway and Riverview, west of I-10 between Arizona Schools for the Deaf and Blind and El Rio Neighborhood Center (click here for map)

Admission:  Free

The Santa Cruz River Farmers’ Market Solstice Solar Fair will show community members how to cook with the sun!  The Fair will feature solar oven building and cooking demonstrations, live music powered by solar energy, and information on discounted purchase of solar ovens from Baja Arizona Sustainable Agriculture (BASA) and solar cookbooks for sale.

Local produce selections at the Farmers’ Market include tomatoes, garlic, basil, purslane, okra, peppers, onions, potatoes, squash, cucumbers, melons, and much more.  Shoppers can also find fresh eggs, Sonora honey, dried beans and grains, free-range beef, herbal remedies, garden plants and cacti.

The Farmers’ Market accepts credit and debit cards, food stamps, cash, and Arizona Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program vouchers for purchases.
