The Santa Cruz River Farmers’ Market “Eggstravaganza” is designed to encourage community members to eat healthy, save money and learn more about the local food system by raising their own chickens. The “Eggstravaganza” will offer an opportunity for shoppers to talk with back yard egg producers, see some of the ducks and chickens that provide eggs for the market, and purchase fresh, local eggs for only $3/dozen. There will also be a kids’ booth where children can decorate eggs to take home.
Local produce selections at the Farmers’ Market include salad and cooking greens, radishes, turnips, beets, leeks, fennel, potatoes, onions, citrus and much more. Shoppers can also find Sonoran honey, dried beans and grains, free-range beef, fresh eggs, herbal remedies, locally roasted coffee, garden plants and cacti.
The Farmers’ Market accepts credit and debit cards, food stamps, cash, and Women, Infant and Children (WIC) Cash Value Vouchers for fruits and vegetables.
