Tucson 2010 Crop Walk to Benefit World-Wide Anti-Hunger Programs
The 2010 Crop Walk is an event when neighbors walk together to take a stand against hunger in the world. Together, members of the community raise awareness and funds for international relief and development as well as locally for the Casa Maria Hospitality House and the Community Food Bank. Almost 3,000 communities across the nation will walk to raise money in 2010-201l.
The Tucson 2010 Crop Walk is pleased to announce that this year’s walk will be “dog-friendly” and walkers are encouraged to bring their canine pets along for the event on Sunday, November 7th. All canines must be on a leash and in compliance with Pima Animal Control Laws.
The Crop Walk will kick off at Ramada #5 in Reid Park at 2:00 PM. When they return, the walkers may sample a Third-World Meal and the dogs will receive their treats as well.
Also this year, walkers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Community Food Bank. Marked food drive containers will be available near Ramada #5.
Join the “dog-friendly” Tucson 2010 Crop Walk on Sunday, November 7th at 2:00 PM. You may sign up for the walk through your local church, online at www.churchworldservice.org. or call Teddy Wintersteen at (520) 807-9797.
