Community Food Resource Center to Present Series on “Home Sustainability”

The Community Food Bank’s Community Food Resource Center will team up with the Pima County Library system in May and June 2011 to present a series of workshops on Sustainability and Home Food Production.  Staff member Leona Davis will host the series at various Pima County Libraries at dates and times listed below.

May 14, 2011, 10:00 – 11:30 AM – Mission Library (3770 Mission Road) – “Chicken Raising Basics.”

May 25, 2011, 5:30 – 7:00 PM – Martha Cooper Library (1377 N. Catalina Ave.) – “Introduction to Water Harvesting.”

June 11, 2011, 10:00 – 11:30 AM – Mission Library – “Introduction to Water Harvesting.”

June 18, 2011, 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon – MAIN Joel D Valdez library – Urban Farming Part -1 “The Homegrown Movement.”

June 23, 2011, 5:30 – 7:00 PM – Martha Cooper Library – “Introduction to Urban Farming.”

June 25, 2011, 10:30 AM – 12:00 Noon – MAIN Joel D Valdez library – Urban Farming Part – 2 “How to Grow Food at Home in Tucson.”

The workshops are free and open to the public.  Pre-registration is not required.
