Community Food Bank Changes its Name to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona
At their June 24, 2011 meeting the Community Food Bank board of directors voted to change the name of the organization to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. The name change was made to better reflect the service area of the Food Bank.
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona serves Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties. Last year, the Food Bank distributed nearly 30 million pounds of food in Southern Arizona and assists over 225,000 men, women and children monthly.
“The name change to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona clearly identifies the area and the people we serve,” said Bill Carnegie, President/CEO. “The Food Bank will continue its goal of helping families in need in Southern Arizona.”
The Food Bank’s legal entity remains Community Food Bank, Inc.
