Two Cans of Donated Food Will Get One Free Admission to the Tucson Padres Baseball Game
Tuesday, July 19, 2011 will be Community Food Bank Night at the Tucson Padres baseball game at Kino Stadium, 2500 E. Ajo Way. Gates open and 6:00PM and the game against the Tacoma Rainiers gets under way at 7:00 PM.
Each person who brings two (2) cans of food, as a donation for the Community Food Bank, will be admitted free. Community Food Bank donation boxes will be located at each entrance. Most needed items are canned meats, canned vegetables, canned soups, canned fruit and canned tomato products.
“During the summer months the Food Bank’s donations are down, so we especially appreciate the Tucson Padres conducting this food drive for us,” said Bill Carnegie, President/CEO.
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona serves over 225,000 each month through all of its programs.
“When Triple-A baseball returned to Tucson and the Padres were formed, we made a commitment to get involved in the community,” said Mike Feder, Vice President & General Manager. “We are delighted to be involved in a project that will result in making sure needy families have enough to eat.”
