Santa Cruz River Farmers’ Market Celebrates its new Location

On July 28th from 4-7pm, the Santa Cruz River Farmers’ Market will host a summer celebration in honor of its new location.  Shoppers can enjoy live Peruvian music, two cooking demonstrations to showcase the many uses of our native prickly pears and other seasonal foods.  The celebration will feature guest speakers from the neighboring community and a great new space that includes small shops and a grassy courtyard.

This will be a wonderful event for the entire family to enjoy refreshing summer fruits and vegetables. Shoppers will find a selection of fresh watermelons, peaches, cucumbers, summer squash, chili peppers, garlic, tomatoes and other locally harvested produce.

The Santa Cruz Farmers’ Market is open every Thursday 4:00-7:00 PM and is located at 100 S. Avenida del Convento, west of I-10 near the intersection of Congress and Grande.  All of the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona farmers’ markets accept SNAP (food stamps), WIC checks, Arizona Farmers Market Nutrition vouchers, cash, credit and debit.
