Lang/Peebles $60,000 Fill the Shelves Challenge

Barry and Janet Lang and Jim and Sandy Peebles will each make a gift of $30,000 to  launch the “Lang/Peebles $60,000 Fill the Shelves Challenge” to benefit the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.  The community is asked to meet the challenge by going online and making a donation.  If someone does not have access to the internet, they may call (520) 622-0525 and ask to donate to the challenge.

The Langs and Peebles are challenging the community to match their gifts now through December 31, 2011 to help replenish food supplies that have been depleted by increased demands and decreased government food during these difficult economic times.  For every $1 donated, the Food Bank can distribute $9.50 worth of food; therefore, with the match, the Food Bank will be able to distribute over $1 million worth of food!

One in four children in Pima County is at risk of hunger.  According to the Langs and Peebles, “One of our goals is that no child goes hungry this holiday season, and we sincerely challenge the community to help us meet this goal.”
