Pick out your masks…polish your dancing shoes…and prepare to light up the night at the Community Food Bank’s Mardi Gras 2013. This year’s celebration will be presented by Casino Del Sol Resort, 5655 West Valencia Road, Tucson, AZ 85757.
Mardi Gras 2013 begins at 7:00 PM and the evening will celebrate Honorary King and Queen of Carnivale, Mark Kelley and Gabrielle Giffords, and Reigning Queen of Carnivale, Betsy Bolding. The event will feature a New Orleans-style dinner accompanied by live performances by Batucaxe, Flam Chen plus dance music by 80’s & Gentlemen and the Muffulettas. Costumes are not required, but are encouraged.
“Don’t miss the best Mardi Gras yet at the new venue, the fabulous Casino Del Sol Resort,” said Stephanie Bankemper, Event Chair. “Back by popular demand are beautifully hand-crafted masks by local artists. The masks will be on display at Tucson Originals restaurants through January 2013 and will join a unique list of silent auction items on January 26th.”
