Community Food Bank Adds New Member to its Board of Directors
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona has announced that a new member has been added to its Board of Directors. Lauryn Bianco was elected to the Board at the January 25, 2013 meeting and will serve a three year term.
Ms. Bianco is the Network Development Coordinator for Community Partners of Southern Arizona. In this role, she coordinates special projects, writes grants and works on new program development. Prior to that, Ms. Bianco was a case manager for the Department of Economic Security. She received a BA from SUNY Fredonia with a major in English and two minors in Dance and Women’s Studies. Ms. Bianco earned a Master’s Degree in Gender and Women’s Studies from the University of Arizona.
“As someone who has worked in human services for the last five years in Tucson, I believe the Community Food Bank is a cornerstone for the community,” said Ms. Bianco. “The Food Bank’s dedication to individuals and families is crucial for the health and wellness of Southern Arizona.”
“The Community Food Bank is pleased to have Lauryn join the Board of Directors,” remarked Bill Carnegie, Food Bank President/CEO. “She will bring a unique perspective to the Board and help guide the future direction of the organization.”
Founded in 1976, the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona provides food for people in need, advocacy and nutrition education throughout Southern Arizona including Cochise, Graham, Greenlee, Pima and Santa Cruz Counties. The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona is a member of Feeding America.
