UA’s Spring Fling 2013 Food Drive to Benefit Community Food Bank
The University of Arizona’s Spring Fling 2013 Food Drive will again benefit the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona on Friday, April 12th. The partnership with Spring Fling is part of the campus-wide UA4Food drive that brings together faculty, staff and students to raise money and food for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. Spring Fling 2013 takes place at Rillito Downs (North 1st Avenue and River Road).
UA Spring Fling is the largest student-run carnival in the nation. It raises money for student clubs, organizations, events, and service work, while also benefiting the Tucson Community. This year Spring Fling will aid the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona’s Child Nutrition Programs and The Emergency Food Assistance Program that distributes over 31,000 food boxes per month.
Attendees at this year’s Spring Fling on Friday, April 12th can combine fun and philanthropy. A donation of four (4) cans of food will reduce their Spring Fling wrist-band purchase by $5.00 (good for all rides that day).
“Spring Fling strives to demonstrate its commitment through our partnership with the Community
Food Bank of Southern Arizona,” said Jared Young, Executive Director of Spring Fling. “We are proud to continue our support for those in need within our community. We feel we have a responsibility to positively impact more than just the one square mile of the University of Arizona campus.”
UA4Food is a program of the Office of Community Relations and is supported by the Marshall Foundation.
