Charity League check Sept 2013 (2)

Tucson:  The National Charity League, Inc. – Tucson Chapter presented a check for $5,000 to Melissa Wieters, Vice President of Development for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona at their annual Fall Kickoff meeting on September 15, 2013 at the Westward Look.

Past and current Tucson chapter liaisons along with active members of the chapter presented the check at the 2:00 PM event.  With the CFB’s Mission Statement of: ‘Through education, advocacy and the acquisition, storage, and distribution of food, we will anticipate and meet the food needs of the hungry in Pima County’, the Tucson Chapter of NCL, Inc. mothers and daughters have worked together side by side with over 600 cumulative hours packing boxes, sorting food and performing other needed activities throughout the community.

“We are very grateful to the National Charity League for their generous monetary donation,” commented Melissa Wieters, Vice President of Development.  “Additionally, we appreciate the many volunteer hours that the members and their daughters have contributed to the Community Food Bank.”
