Coco’s Bakery and Carrows Restaurants host “Pies for a Purpose”
Patrons at both Coco’s Bakery Restaurants and Carrows Restaurants will be able to donate freshly baked pies to those in their local community who need them! The donated pies will be picked up by the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona.
Pies for a Purpose is a donation program started by Catalina Restaurant Group (Coco’s Bakery Restaurants and Carrows Restaurants) in 2009 to help feed the communities where we, our friends, guests and employees, live and work. It is designed as an easy way to get our guests in the holiday giving spirit by allowing them to give with minimal effort and cost.
Starting November 7th, guests will be given the option to purchase and donate a pie when they leave Coco’s and Carrows Restaurants. On Wednesday of each week, all the pies that were designated to be donated will be assembled and baked fresh in our restaurants. Starting November 13th, and every following Wednesday (except Christmas and New Year’s week the pick-up date will need to be changed) until January 1st, the local food banks will drive to the individual restaurants and pick up the pies to be handed out as needed.
Coco’s and Carrows donated over 20,000 pies last year and is pushing, via our website, facebook, e-club, in store materials and by outdoor billboard advertising, to surpass that mark.
