Amado Food Bank to Come Under the Administration of the Green Valley-Sahuarita Food Bank
Effective January 1, 2014
Amado, AZ: Changes in staffing at the Amado Community Food Bank will necessitate that the branch food bank come under the administration of the Green Valley-Sahuarita Community Food bank on January 1, 2014. Previous plans for a transition period are no longer possible.
The Amado Food Bank is not closing.
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona will work with the Amado community to help develop plans for support services, outside of food distribution, that were previously conducted by the Amado Food Bank.
“Our goal is to provide the best possible services to the people we serve through the Amado Community Food Bank,” said Bill Carnegie, President/CEO. “We will continue to work with the Amado Community to create an efficient and improved food distribution site in Amado.”
Following the New Years Holiday and closure for inventory on January 2nd and 3rd, the Amado Community Food Bank will reopen January 6th.
The Amado Community Food Bank will continue to serve families in the Amado, Tubac, Arivaca, Elephant Head, Tumacacori and Lakewood areas.
