Gleaning
Volunteers gather from donors many crops, including oranges, grapefruit, corn, lettuce, onions, and chiles. Food items are gleaned because often crops of edible food are left in the fields because they are too large, too small, too ripe, or not ripe enough. This food, having been saved from waste, is distributed in food boxes and to agencies with meal programs.
For information on giving to this program contact the Gleaning Coordinator at 520-622-0525.
