Community Food Bank’s Holiday Challenge, Presented by Four Local Families,
Will Match Up to $110,000 in Online Donations until December 31, 2013
The Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona’s Holiday Challenge will be presented this year by four local families: The Jim Click Family Foundation, Jim and Sandy Peebles, Barry and Janet Lang and the Chen/Chow family. The dollar-for-dollar match up to $110,000, until December 31, 2013, will help needy families in Southern Arizona during this holiday season.
The community is asked to meet the challenge by going online and making a donation. If someone does not have access to the internet, they may call (520) 882-3296 and donate to the challenge.
Last year, the Community Food Bank distributed over 27 million pounds of food, enough for over 63,000 meals each day.
Also, remember before the end of the year the Arizona’s Charitable Tax Credit Law allows a dollar-for-dollar tax credit on contributions to the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona. New this year, you do not need to itemize your taxes to claim the credit. Taxpayers filing as a single person can receive a credit up to $200 or up to $400 if you file jointly. Donors have until Tuesday, December 31, 2013 to meet the requirements.
