Volunteer at the Farm

General Information

We are always excited to welcome volunteers of any age or experience level! With multiple volunteer jobs available at the farm, we require no experience with farming or gardening and we can usually find work to accommodate various physical abilities.

Volunteers typically help with planting, weeding and harvesting, but if you have a special skill, please let us know.

Volunteer Days and Times

Monday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday are regular volunteer work days at the farm.  Hours and activities change seasonally so please call the Community Food Bank Volunteer Manager, Kristen Hershberger, at 882-3293 to set up a time to volunteer. Please make sure you bring: A water bottle, a hat, long pants, long sleeve button up shirt, close toed shoes and a snack (if you are staying for a while).

Individuals, families or groups are welcome to volunteer on any of the regular volunteer days as reoccurring or one-time volunteers but you must call first so we know you are coming:

Large Group Volunteers

Any group larger than 50 must call in advance and schedule with volunteer coordinator. We ask that you appoint 2-5 leaders from your group to come beforehand to work with farm staff to learn what your group will be doing. This is will help us be organized on the day of your arrival. Please call Kristen Hershberger, CFB Volunteer Manager at 882-3293 or email khershberger@communityfoodbank.org

Internships, Research, and Special Projects

University internships, research, and special projects are welcome. Please contact us for more information and to discuss your interests.
