Playground

The Community Food Bank’s playground is a 3,000 square foot oasis of fun. It was built in 2000 by about 280 volunteers from businesses and nearby neighborhoods.

Designed to provide good safe recreation for kids who come to the Food Bank with their parents, the playground includes swings, slides and ladders. About 50 children per day use the playground.

Now they are able to play there under a shade that will protect them from the fierce rays of the Arizona sun.

The $45,000 cost of materials for the park came from Tucson Electric Power Co., The Home Depot, the United Way of Southern Arizona and KaBoom! LET US PLAY, a national non-profit organization.
